Looking for the peace and quiet of an unspoilt village without giving up the vastness of a big ski area? Villard-Reculas is the place for you. Perched at 1,550 m on a south-facing balcony, this authentic village resort was the first to link up with Alpe d'Huez, as early as 1946. Ever since, it has cultivated its traditional character while offering prime access to the 250 km of the Grand Domaine.

Villard-Reculas enjoys a unique position: a sunny plateau overlooking the Romanche and Eau d’Olle valleys, with breathtaking panoramic views of the high peaks of the Oisans.

By road:

  • From Allemond via the new road (recommended)
  • From Huez via the historic balcony road: narrow and winding, but spectacular!

Access to the Grand Domaine:

  • Villarais chairlift: in 8 minutes you’re at the top of the Signal (2,100 m)
  • From the Signal: direct access to the whole Alpe d’Huez ski area
  • Link to Alpe d’Huez in under 10 minutes

  • Marcel’s Farm: a cult fun slope packed with attractions, whoops, tunnels and colourful features – the most “Baaa-utiful” in Alpe d’Huez!
  • Espace Freeride de la Forêt: a secured off-piste area with a bird’s-eye view of the valley
  • Snowpark des Vallons: new (2024-2025), tucked away in a small valley with optimal conditions
