The Sugar Shack at Alpe d’Huez: a gourmet treat you didn’t see coming

We weren’t expecting it at all. We were making our way back up the slopes at a leisurely pace after a busy morning, our legs feeling heavy, that midday weariness setting in where you’re torn between a quick coffee and one more run. And that’s when we spotted it. A small wooden cabin, nestled at the edge of the slopes near Les Bergers, with an atmosphere that stood out completely in the middle of the resort. A Canadian flag, logs, smoke drifting gently from the chimney, and above all, that smell… the scent of warm honey wafting through the cold mountain air. We looked at each other, and without a word, we veered off course.
